Alcohol and Drugs

Remember that Officials must not consume alcohol until the day’s activities are complete, or be affected by drugs at any time while they are on duty. We will provide drinks at the conclusion of each day’s racing.

Cameras and Mobile Phones

Please remember that cameras and mobile phones may not be used by Officials whilst on duty. Speak to your Senior Official if you have a special need and he/she will assist you.

Changes to your availability

If your availability has changed, please advise NT Major Events Company Sport Coordinator Celia de Latour on celia.delatour@nt.gov.au or 0431 155 536 as soon as possible.

Chief Minister's Reception

Details are yet to be confirmed for the Chief Minister’s Function.

At the Credentials evening you will receive a wristband to attend this Official V8 Supercars welcome function at Parliament House. If you do not wish to attend, please advise us when wristbands are being distributed. As numbers to this official function are very limited, one wristband per person is available.

Credentials Night

The Credentials Night will be held on Wednesday, 15 June 2016. A venue will be confirmed shortly.

All registered officials must attend this evening – sign-on from 5:30pm, dinner and light refreshments provided:

At the credentials evening you will:

  • Collect your Credentials Pack and official’s shirt
  • Receive final instructions from your Team Leaders
  • Familiarise yourself with others in your team, and with the event in general
  • Get a chance to ask questions on things you are unsure of
  • For all new officials, a specific briefing will be given

Food and Drink

You will be given a lunch pack plus bottled water delivered to you at your location throughout the weekend. If you have indicated ‘special dietary requirement’ on your registration, please advise your team leader each morning. Please do not bring non Coca Cola products to the race track.

Junior Officials (Aged under 18)

Junior Officials (those aged under 18 years) are more than welcome to participate in the Darwin Triple Crown.

However, Junior Officials aged under 18 must have signed parental consent. Once registered, please complete the CAMS 2016 Disclaimer Parent Consent from and return it to Celia de Latour at celia.delatour@nt.gov.au.

New Officials

If you are a new official volunteer and do not hold a CAMS license, please download your CAMS Trainee Officials Licence before you attend your chosen event and take it with you.  Make sure at the conclusion of your event you get your Trainee Officials Licence signed by your supervisor or senior official. You will then be required to lodge this form with CAMS Customer Service. Upon receipt of this form you will be allocated with your CAMS Member number and be contacted by CAMS regarding Step 2 of the process to becoming a General Official.

Organising Committee

The Organising Committee in 2016 consists of Jack Holding as Race Secretary, Clerk of Course Lawrie Schmitt and Deputy Clerk of Course Vince Ciccarello.

Parking

Parking is in the car park adjacent to the Credentials Office at Gate 4. The area is specifically allocated for Officials.  You must not park elsewhere unless you have a specific or race-related reason for doing so, and have the correct vehicle pass. Plan for time to park your car and catch the shuttle bus down to the Paddock where you sign the Officials Sign-on sheets on arrival.

Race & Rock

All volunteer officials are welcome to attend the after-race concerts held at Hidden Valley’s Centre Stage on both Saturday and Sunday nights. Further details to be released soon.

Roles

If you would like to discuss the role you have been allocated over the weekend, we ask that you raise this at the credentials evening by speaking to your team leader.

Safety

Your safety is our priority! Please read through the Darwin Triple Crown Officials Safety Guidelines. If there is anything that you do not understand please ask your team leader prior to commencing duties.

Sign On

Please ensure that you are in the Pit Paddock, signed-on and ready for the morning briefing by the following times:

Go to the back of the Pit Paddock/ Race Secretary Office (Briefing Area). Your name will be listed under your team. Read the Disclaimers and sign your name.

You need to sign on each day.

Social Media

Please read and abide by the advice given in the CAMS Guidelines for the use of Social Media

Sunday Thank You

There will be a thank you get together which will be held in the Briefing Area. This will take place after the completion of racing on the Sunday (approximately 5.30pm).

It is possible there may be a Media Conference in progress around this time. We ask for your patience in waiting until it has concluded before moving into the Briefing Area.

Two Way Radios

Officials allocated radios can collect these from the Radio Shack which is located within the briefing area.

What to Wear

To present a united identity at the event, ALL officials are required to wear the “Official’s Shirt” each day of the event – your shirt is provided in your credentials kit.

An “Official” cap will be given to you at your first morning briefing by V8 Supercars Australia

You must wear clean jeans or long pants and closed toe shoes

Bring insect repellant, for your own protection

Sunscreen will be included in your officials pack and ear plugs may be collected each morning.
