PITLANE EXRESS BUS SERVICE

Grab the Pitlane Express Bus to Hidden valley! Show your HOT PASS to the driver to travel to and from the event for FREE.

The PITLANE EXPRESS bus service will be running for 3 days of racing and 2 nights of concerts, courtesy of the Northern Territory Government.

GATE 2 (G2) is the Public Transport Bus Terminal and drop off for PITLANE EXPRESS entry.

TAXI SERVICE

If you need to catch a taxi to or from Hidden Valley during the race weekend, there is a taxi rank located above Gate 3, just past the security checkpoint.

Want to bring your catering business to the V8s?

We are after a wide variety of food and drink vendors to operate at Hidden Valley over the weekend of 17 – 19 June.

To apply fill out the following information and to assist us, please include the following documents in your application;

  • Public Liability Insurance

The Darwin Triple Crown is a great community event and is able to offer something for everyone, we are after catering outlets with a wide variety of quality food products at reasonable prices. All catering outlets are expected to provide tidy, well-presented stalls and will be responsible for their entire stall setup and equipment including but not limited to; shade/shelter, flooring, lighting, leads and power boards.

Coca Cola Amatil holds the exclusive licence to supply ready-to-drink non-alcoholic beverages – only their products must be sold. NT Major Events Company will reserve the right to remove any conflicting products on the day. If your application is successful you will be provided with the ‘Coca Cola Amatil ordering procedure’ which will assist you with making any necessary orders pre-event and also during the event should you require additional stock. Please note that all caterers located in track centre are only permitted to sell Mount Franklin water.

All catering outlets will be required to be operating across all three days of the event, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Catering Coordinator from NT Major Events Company. For further information regarding catering outlets, terms and conditions are attached at the bottom of the page.

All catering submissions will close on Monday 28 March 2016 and you will be notified on the progress of your application by Monday 11 April 2016.

Zone 1 Catering Sites – $600 + GST

Zone 1 catering sites are located in The Classics public viewing area and in the Children’s Area. Catering sites located at The Classics will be required to operate Friday through to Sunday. The Children’s area will only operate on Saturday and Sunday.

Zone 2 Catering Sites – $700 + GST

Zone 2 catering sites are well positioned in Valley Mound, Shenannigans Hill and Merchandise Alley and are required to operate Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Zone 3 Catering Sites – $800 + GST

Zone 3 Catering Sites are located in the high impact areas Track Centre and Pit Paddock, these sites are required to in be operation on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All Track Centre caterers are also required to operate during the RACE AND ROCK Concerts held on Saturday and Sunday evenings.

FAQ

Can I bring my own food and drink to the event?

No food, drinks, alcohol, illegal substances, glass or dangerous objects are allowed into the event. Bags will be searched on entry.

Will I be able to purchase food and alcohol?

A variety of food stalls, soft drinks, bottled water and alcoholic beverages can be purchased throughout Hidden Valley Raceway at various outlets. Ice can also be purchased from appointed outlets.

Can we bring our own fold up chairs?

Yes, patrons are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

Will there be Superscreens to watch all the action?

There are six Superscreens strategically positioned around the Raceway.

Where are the Express entry points?

For HOT PASS ticket holders express entry is available at Gate 1 and Gate 2.

Where do I go if I’ve lost or found belongings?

Lost & Found articles should be turned in to or claimed at the Communications Office situated at the security checkpoint gate.

It’s going to be warm can I bring an inflatable swimming pool to use at the event?

Portable and inflatable pools are strictly prohibited and will be removed if found.

Will there be shade available?

Shade is provided throughout Hidden Valley for the comfort of all patrons. The erection of unapproved shade structures is NOT permitted and this includes umbrellas. Please respect this directive.

What is the radio frequency if I want to bring a pocket radio?

Live radio, commentary of the Hidden Valley race weekend is available on 88.0FM.

Can I purchase souvenirs at Hidden Valley?

T-Shirts, hats and official merchandise can be purchased from the various racing team stalls. Official Hidden Valley merchandise is also available from the Total Promotions outlet.

Is there plenty of parking if I want to drive to the event?

There is provision for 7000 cars. Parking is at no charge to patrons. Security will be patrolling parking areas, however parking is at the owner’s risk.

Is there somewhere safe I can park my motorbike?

There is a separate and secured area adjacent to Gate 4 for motorbike parking.

Where do I go to smoke whilst at the event?

There will be designated smoking ‘pods’ clearly marked around Hidden Valley Raceway. For the comfort of patrons we ask you smoke in the designated areas. Smoking is not permitted near any food area, bar, children’s playground, Pit Paddock or Merchandise Alley.

Will there be security, police and first aid available?

Yes, all will be visible with respective uniforms. For your safety and those around you please obey all directions.

Can I bring my dog?

Pets are NOT permitted into Hidden Valley Raceway.

What activities will there be for kids?

There is a children’s supervised playground with roving entertainment. Some of the activities may incur a fee.

What ticket/s admits access to RACE & ROCK?

3 Day HOT PASS, Monster Viewing Platform Pass, all Corporate Suites tickets and also the relevant Day Pass.

Northern Territory Major Events Company public photography & recording policy

This sporting event will be covered by television and the press.  Accordingly, it is possible that you might be photographed individually or in a crowd scene and/or your voice recorded, with or without your knowledge.  It is a condition of entry that your image and/or voice may be used for commercial exploitation at the discretion of the taker without any notice, payment or compensation to you.

Will free public buses operate after RACE & ROCK?

Yes, the FREE Pit Lane Express bus service will ensure patrons get home safely. Buses will depart adjacent to the track centre at the conclusion of the concerts.

At what age do I require a ticket?

Any person 13 years and under are free to enter the venue, however must be accompanied at all times by their ticket holding parent or legal guardian.

Can I purchase a concession ticket?

Concession tickets for students and pensioners can be purchased at the gate with appropriate ID.

Is Hidden Valley wheelchair accessible?

Yes, disabled parking is located adjacent to Gate 1. Wheelchair bound patrons are best to view the race from the General Admission area located behind the Terrace Hairpin Sites – shaded viewing and disabled toilets are located in this area.

Wheelchair access to Section 4 Track Centre is via the Controlled Pedestrian Track Cross at Section 2. The Track Crossing opens intermittently throughout the day during lulls in racing.

What is the policy on ambush marketing?

The Event Organiser does not permit or support any activity that may be determined as ambush marketing. This will include the handing out of flyers, the placement of posters, the distribution of products or any material considered unauthorised. As a consequence the organiser will request the immediate removal of any person or organisation from the areas deemed to be zoned specifically for the event. What are the sampling guidelines?

Sampling opportunities are available at the Darwin Triple Crown V8 Supercars however, must be approved in writing by NTMEC at least 90 days prior to the event. View the event Sampling Guidelines here. 

Volunteer Officials

HOW TO REGISTER

Before you can complete the Volunteer Official registration form, you need to create an account to access the Volunteer Official’s Portal.

We have created the Volunteer Official’s Portal, which contains all the registration forms and information you need to be a Volunteer Official at the Darwin Triple Crown V8 Supercars.

To access the portal, simply click the button below to “Enter the Volunteer Official’s Portal” and fill out your details. You will receive an email with an activation link, which you need to click on to finish the process.

You will then have access to the Volunteer Official’s Portal. You can log in and complete the registration form available in the Portal and access all the information you need for the event.

Get your engines running and come and be part of the experience!

Becoming a volunteer motorsport official is the closest you can get to the action without being in the driver’s seat. Volunteers play a vital part in motor sport and without them the sport could not function.

Officials are responsible for ensuring that the sport runs safely, fairly and that the rules and regulations of motor sport are upheld. Being an official is also an excellent opportunity to meet new and like minded people whilst enjoying the satisfaction of being part of one of the Northern Territory’s biggest events!

Whatever your skills or interests there is a role to suit you. Don’t worry if you do not have any experience.

NT Major Events Company, in conjunction with the Confederation of Australian Motor Sports Ltd conduct the necessary training and induction requirements for all Officials. Please consider when applying that we prefer Officials to be available all three days of the event.

Please note that officials based trackside and in competition areas must be at least 16 years old.

To access the registration forms, you will need to log in to our Volunteer Official’s Portal.

The Communications Team comprises the observers located at the Flag Points around the track. The team’s task is to observe all happenings around the circuit and report to Race Control, over the trackside “intercom/loop” system and relay instructions from Race Control to other officials at the flag point.

The Equipment Team is the team that distributes the trackside equipment to the Sectors each morning and collects it each night. In between these jobs, they may be called upon to relocate equipment as required and deliver lunch & refreshments to all officials.

The Fire and Rescue Team are the trained Fire & Rescue Marshals stationed in Fire vehicles, or on foot around the track and in pit lane.

The Flag Team are the officials appointed to each Flag Point around the circuit to give flag signals to the drivers while they are on the track. Their duties also include almost everything possible, including assisting the Fire & Rescue Marshals, sweeping the track, and assisting the recovery team.

The Paddock Team is the team controlling the Support Event paddock and the Marshalling area where the race cars form up in race order before being released to the starting grid.

The Pit and Grid Team’s duties include controlling vehicles and people in pit lane, the V8 Supercar paddock area and assisting Scrutineers maintain the V8 Supercar Parc Ferme. The team also has responsibility to ensure that appropriate pit lane speeds are maintained and directing drivers to their correct positions on the starting grid before each event.

The Scrutineering Team is made up of Scrutineers whose duty is to check all cars for safety and eligibility and to examine any cars involved in accidents. The Scrutineers work from the Support Paddock, the V8 Supercar area and Pit Lane.

The Timing Team’s task is to record the time of every lap of every car during all practice and qualifying sessions and races, and to produce the printed official results of all events.

The Vehicle Recovery team includes the tow truck teams and their Assistants, whose job it is to recover the ”dead cars” from around the circuit and return them to the paddock, pit lane, or to the Scrutineers as appropriate.
